SUPPORT USThe Alumni Association’s primary purpose is to enhance the program at the Northern Lakes Girl Scout Canoe Base. To achieve this goal, the association relies on your donations of both time and money. If you have additional ideas on how you can help support the NLCBAA, please contact fundraising@nlcbaa.org. One of the easiest ways to support our organization and the canoe base is through a monetary donation. The NLCBAA is a 501(c)(3) NON-PROFIT corporation! This means that all donations are tax-deductible. The EIN Number for the NLCBAA is 41-2188973. Monetary DonationsPersonal Check: You can send donations via a personal check to: Northern Lakes Canoe Base Alumni Association | 1 Acorn Drive | Sunfish Lake, MN 55077 Credit/Debit Card: To send us a secure donation using using your credit/debit card or bank draw, use this link. Note: Zeffy is a platform that sends us 100% of your donation. Zeffy will ask you to make a voluntary contribution to cover the costs of the transaction. This additional fee does not go to us, and it does not get charged to us if you do not pay it.
Donation Matching Program: Some companies match donations of employees for non-profits. If you work for a company that does this, we recommend making donations through your company’s program to maximize your donation. The EIN Number for the NLCBAA is 41-2188973. If you have any additional questions for setting up the NLCBAA with your company’s matching donation program, please contact our Fundraising Chair at fundraising@nlcbaa.org. Donations of Time Currently, one of the main projects the organization is working on is Participant Recruitment. You can help with this project by advertising the program to your local council. If you have already done this, we would like to know! If you would like some guidance and/or material on how you can do this, please contact boardchair@nlcbaa.org. Additionally, you can give donations of time by coming to a work weekend at the canoe base. We schedule work weekends just before the base begins summer operations, and we carry out a variety of tasks from property maintenance, such as painting, brushing, cleaning out gutters, and turning on water service, to property improvements like building trails and installing fixtures. Volunteers camp at the base or stay in accommodations in town. There is usually one work weekend in late spring and we always need more volunteers! NLCBAA welcomes other donations of time. Becoming a board member is not the only way to keep the organization move forward.
